Boom Boom Violet

Two Technic ‘Pretty Pastels’ for you today – and my first try at a ‘Spotty Gradient’

I used Cherry Boom Boom, a sugary sweet pastel pink crème that gives full coverage after 2 coats, and Sweet Violet, a baby purple in the same theme.

I stuck with my current theme of alternate colours (Pink on one hand, purple accent – Purple on the other, pink accent) and thought once it had dried that it was a little… lacking. Although the colours are nice and I really liked them (the pink especially) I thought they would be great complimenting colours for a little taping.

As you may be aware, my last taping attempt resulted in me growing more grey hairs and developing a stress headache so bad that I actually gave up.

This time I made sure that all my layers were dry (I waited near an hour this time per layer) before I stuck on the tape. I also stuck the tape a few times down on the back of my hand so it wasn’t quite so sticky. It made a huge difference, but the edges weren’t quite so crisp. Give me a few more tries and I’ll be a pro*

Once that was done I thought it lacked a little something – and I had been seeing a lot of these dotty gradients. I thought – well.. what the hell!

The overall effect was so easy and looked AMAZING. Yes, I know I often say that manicures are my favourite, but I think this one really is.  I love it. The colours look great, the dots are even (on both hands!!) and it took less than 10 mins to get the effect.

I love it. Expect to see this much, much more.
